The unique beauty of the Hortobágy wilderness, its richness of colours and phenomena, has long inspired writers, poets and artists. The aim of the Hortobágy Bird Park is to cure injured and sick birds that have been found in the country and to release them back into the wild. In the open-air hospital, visitors can observe the recovering birds through glass walls and even watch a surgery.
